Dean Carmichael, DDS
Dr. Carmichael was born and raised in Parma, Ohio and graduated from Normandy High School. He graduated from The Ohio State University with degrees in Microbiology and Virology before attending The Ohio State Dental School, where he received his Doctorate in Dentistry in 1984. Shortly after graduation he joined Rockside Family Dental and has been in practice here since 1984. He enjoys the variety that a family dental practice provides and especially enjoys helping dental phobic patients.
Dr. Carmichael has studied at the renowned Las Vegas Institute for advanced dental cosmetic procedures as well as neuromuscular treatment of TMJ pain and implant dentistry. Dr. Carmichael also treats patients who have problems with snoring and sleep apnea.
Dr. Carmichael has been named one of Cleveland’s Top Dentists for 10 years in a row! We are grateful to have him as part of our very talented team of doctors.
Dr. Carmichael resides in Fairlawn, Ohio with his wife, two daughters, and his dog Pippa. He enjoys all sports especially swimming, water, and snow skiing.
Paul Russ, DDS
Dr. Paul Russ was born and raised in Cleveland Heights, OH. He graduated from Cleveland’s St. Ignatius High School in 1994. He was accepted into OSU Dental School prior to graduation while studying Biology at Ohio State University. In 2003 Dr. Russ graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Biology and a Doctorate in Dentistry from The Ohio State University. Dr. Russ practiced in Akron, prior to coming to Rockside Family Dental Care in 2007.
As a General Dentist, Dr. Russ enjoys all aspects of dentistry. Dr. Russ is one of the few general dentists in the area that are qualified in placing dental implants & other surgical procedures. Allowing most of our patients the comfort of staying at their dental home for these procedures is something that he is proud of.
Dr. Russ now lives in Broadview Heights with his wife and five children. He enjoys spending time with his family and working on his home and yard. Dr. Russ is a Buckeye and Cleveland sports fan. He also enjoys the art of Bonsai.
Jason Jeran, DMD
Dr. Jeran grew up in Mentor, Ohio where he attended Lake Catholic High School. He earned his degree in psychology at the University of Dayton.
His passion for dentistry developed during his attendance at Case Western Reserve University of Dental Medicine. Dr. Jeran spent several years practicing dentistry elsewhere in Ohio before making the move to Rockside Family Dental Care.
Although Dr. Jeran enjoys all aspects of dentistry, we are especially happy to have him as part of our team for his forte in Endodontics. This has allowed most of our patients to remain in the comfort of their dental home for some of the more complicated root canal procedures. Dr. Jeran is also a certified Invisalign provider.
Dr. Jeran still resides in Mentor with his wife Sarah and his dogs, Bentley & Wilson. In his free time, he is an avid golfer. He loves traveling to new courses with his friends and just enjoying the day…which he admits is much more enjoyable if he is playing well. He is also a dedicated Cleveland sports fan with his favorite team being the Browns….” even though it can be painful to watch at times”. Self-proclaimed foodie. Dr. Jane Gibson, DDS
Dr. Gibson comes from the small town of Coshocton, Ohio. She loves being from a small town, and is excited to become a part of the Independence community! She attended college at Indiana University, Bloomington, where she studied Biology. During her time at Indiana, she was on the club tennis team, studied abroad in Italy, and graduated with Honors of Highest Distinction.
Dr. Gibson went on to earn her Doctorate in Dentistry from the Ohio State University. After graduation, she completed a residency program in Youngstown, Ohio at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital – gaining additional experience with a wide range of surgical procedures and root canal therapy. She is passionate about helping her patients receive the best treatment for their individual needs.
Outside of the dental office, Dr. Gibson loves playing tennis, spending time with family, and exploring the Cleveland Metroparks. She looks forward to getting to know you and your family in the future!
